​Born in central Scotland,  I am a self-confessed nomad who only feels settled in a home that moves .  I have taken many writing sabbaticals in America, India and briefly in Tibet in 2001 that intersects all of  my art and writing. I am also an accomplished humanist astrologer in the UK and America and am the creator of a new form of poetry, 'The Chart Poem'. I live with my partner, photographer James Merrell and my daughter Zara on a houseboat on the Basingstoke Canal. As Margot F Wilson I am a researcher and expert in meditation, lucid and vivid dreaming and is creator of the Breath-Induced Vivid Dreaming technique.

As Margot Wilson I am a writer, artist and filmmaker presently attending the Royal College of Art.

Background
I read philosophy as an undergraduate at Birkbeck, University of London and received an MPhil (Research) in philosophy from the University of Glasgow in 2016.  I was awarded an MA English & Creative Writing with distinction from The University of Sheffield in 2017.

Throughout my life I have cycled through visual and written art forms and lately have adventured into performance, treating breathing, meditation, and dreaming, as performance. My aim at all times is to express the contradiction in Existence. To capture the active state of stillness. The simultaneous expansion and limitation that creates form. I am obsessed with the idea that harmony + efficiency underpins existence and our experience of existence. Originally a poet and sculptor I find myself returning to my roots, working with my hands, tempering my mind, letting the art form do the talking. This website provides a glimpse of how an artist astrologer approaches being in time.

I'm still editing and reworking my five unfinished collections of poetry; Larky v America, Primo Atlantis, Smoke My Feather, CC Pilgrim Trails and Chart Poems.  ‘Horse Tails’ was published in the US online publication, First Writer, in 2014 and ‘The Bag’ was performed at Theatre in the Pound at The Cockpit Theatre in London . 'The Dream Doctor' performed at Sheffield's Drama Studio in June 2017. Other poems are published by BARE FICTION MAGAZINE (NOV 2017), ROUTE 57 (MARCH 2017), THE MECHANIC'S INSTITUTE REVIEW (NOV 2016) and PROMETHEUS DREAMING (2019).
